Halloween is just around the corner and that means it’s almost time to put on your favorite costume and go trick-or-treating! Whether you are dressing up as your favorite superhero or a scary monster, there are a few safety tips you’ll want to keep in mind this Halloween. Check out some trick-or-treating safety tips below!
Whether you are going with your parents or friends, be sure to trick-or-treat with a group. This will ensure that everyone remains safe and no one gets lost.
It’s starting to get dark earlier in the evening, so you’ll want to bring a flashlight with you while you are out with your group. Incorporating lights into your costume will make sure you are easily visible – and it looks pretty cool, too! Also be sure to stick to the sidewalks as much as possible and stay out of the road.
While it might be tempting to run from house-to-house to get all of the candy first, this is a sure way to trip and fall. It’s easy to get tripped up in a long costume, robes or capes – so take it slow this Halloween season. Taking a tumble while trick-or-treating would really ruin the fun!
Talk to your group about a meet-up location and time in case you get separated. This could be at a friend’s house or a local business. This way, you’ll know exactly where to go if you get split up from the group.
Cold fall weather is hitting fast this year, so plan your costume around a few extra layers to make sure you stay warm while out trick-or-treating!
