It’s hard to believe, but summer is almost over! The good news is you can still get the most out of the dog days of summer. If you’re looking for some ways to enjoy the last few weeks of summer, check out these ideas below!
Getting out in nature and camping with friends and family is one of the BEST ways to enjoy the last days of summer. There are plenty of camping options in McDowell County, including Panther State Forest.
But, if you don’t want to travel too far, you could always camp right in your backyard! Set up a tent, roast some marshmallows and enjoy a night under the stars.
Challenge yourself to go “screen free” for an entire day. No TV, no smartphone, no computer. Instead of spending your time with technology, you can read a book or magazine, go for a walk with your family or do some fun art projects inside. Technology is a hard habit to break, but give it a try!
Summer is the perfect time to have a picnic with friends and family. Whether you head to a park or just throw down a blanket in your yard, a picnic is a great way to make memories. Keep it simple – pack some sandwiches and drinks and kick back and enjoy a day in the sun.
With just a few weeks left for summer break, now is the perfect time to get your whole family together for a road trip! You don’t have to go far, or even have a destination in mind. Just pack some snacks, put on a good playlist, and enjoy some quality time with your folks!
